Janine (J9) is a privacy researcher, independent investigative journalist, and educator on the topics of informational self-determination and (counter)surveillance. She was the author of ‘This Month In Bitcoin Privacy’ (TMIBP) newsletter. Since its founding, she has been a board member of Open Sats. From 2019 to 2022, she was a member of the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium’s (C4) Certified Bitcoin Professional exam committee. During 2023, she was part of the Human Rights Foundation’s (HRF) CBDC Tracker fellowship.
